“Leadership Lessons From Vail, CO with My ULI Friends…”
By Sherman Ragland | July 28, 2007
I’m off again, with my “Ullie People”, as my wife likes to say.
Actually it would be my ULI Friends
The Urban Land Institute, or ULI is the national organization for real estate developers, and after 15 years as a FULL Member, it was an honor to be asked to serve in leadership capacity for my current council, the Inner-City Revitalization Council. ULI is a solid organization with access to an incredible amount of research on what is currently going on, as well as future trends in real estate. Twice a year ULI sponsors a “Leadership Council” meeting in which the senior leadership of the organization comes together for a few days to discuss what is going on, and to give our feedback to the full-time dedicated staff.
We never know until about 2-3 weeks out, which city in the world staff has selected, but it seems that it is always a great spot.
This time we found ourselves in Vail, Colorado. No snow on the ground, but still a very beautiful place to be – anytime of year
What was most interesting is of course, not what happened outside, but what took place in the room over the 2-day Leadership Sessions.
This is one of the best mastermind groups I have ever been involved with and I look forward to the information that staff has gathered over the prior six-months that keeps us all on the cutting edge of what is really taking place in the real estate markets across the country, and the world.
Looking forward to sharing some of the more thought provoking items in the coming blog posts…
