“A Career In Real Estate…?”

I know that many people who follow my blog posts are a combination of folks who are already full time real estate investors, as well as people with full time careers in other industries who are part-time investors.

However, I am told, that a number of people who read this blog are also professionals who are interested in careers in real estate. It should not be too much of a surprise. This is honestly how I got my start, working for big time developers in Northern Virginia and Downtown DC before breaking out on my own in the early 1990’s.

One of the professional groups I belong to called the Urban Land Institue (ULI) is hosting an evening seminar for folks who are interested in a career in real estate. Specifically, commercial real estate and/or land development.

A Real Estate Career Conversation

Join us for a panel discussion followed by a question and answer period and a networking reception focused on the real estate industry. This is an opportunity to broaden your knowledge about all the elements related to real estate development including site development, construction, finance, public policy, law, architecture, and planning. This event will help you understand how the various elements relate to each other in getting a development completed. You will also learn what skills and education are required for the various elements of the real estate profession. A panel of five knowledgeable and experienced speakers from different areas of the real estate industry will present a general discussion of career path options, current local job market conditions, and suggestions for making a move across fields or up within your own field of real estate. A networking reception will complete the evening. All attendees will receive a copy of the ULI published The Inside Track to Careers in Real Estate book by Stan Ross.
